The journey to parenthood isn't always as straightforward or easy as expected. If you're reading this information, you probably already know this and I'm sorry if things are currently difficult. Navigating fertility struggles can be very draining emotionally and financially and can quickly take its toll on relationships with your partner, friends and family. Many individuals and couples end up going it alone, in virtual isolation. The good news is, you don't have to! Specialised support is available.
Reaching out to a caring and compassionate counsellor on your open-ended journey can be really valuable as the sessions are conducted in a safe space where you can express things that sometimes you can't say to other people around you.
This can be incredibly freeing.
Many individuals are thriving in lots of other areas of life and might think seeking counselling as a sign of weakness. I believe it is the complete opposite! I believe it is a proactive investment in your mental and emotional health, at a time when physical health often receives most of the focus.
Fiona has undergone specific training in third party reproduction / donor conception, genetic complications and termination; and also has valuable experience supporting clients who are facing fertility treatments. She also provides valuable support to clients affected by perinatal loss (miscarriage; ectopic pregnancy; stillbirth; and, TFMR - termination for medical reasons; and neonatal death).
Fiona's fertility-specific counselling can provide you with unique support to help keep you (and your relationship) strong and resilient to withstand the ups and downs on your journey to parenthood.
Fiona offers a warm and inviting space, free of judgement and full of empathy and understanding. Her compassion-focused approach allows clients to openly share their fears, worries and triumphs and find ways to manage all of these as they arise. Many of Fiona's clients stay on for support during pregnancy, particularly during pregnancy after loss (PAL) - another unique journey that requires a nuanced approach and a lot of understanding during this nerve-wracking time.
